Why test for menopause?

The passage from childbearing years to the next stage of life can take more than a year. During this time, many women experience unpleasant symptoms as their menstrual cycles become fewer and irregular.

A menopause test can reassure a woman that her symptoms are indeed those of menopause, and that they can be relieved. Knowing that she is at the onset of menopause, a woman may also decide to get early preventive treatment for osteoporosis.

A clock or timer is needed for this test.

The sealed pouch should be stored at room temperature, and should not be opened until you are ready to test.

The kit should not be used after the expiration date printed on the package.

Read instructions carefully and make sure you understand them before you begin the test, as the test wands cannot be reused and both are needed for one test.

Do the test on the first urine of the day, as it contains the highest concentration of hormone.

Oral contraceptives (the Pill) can affect the results of this test. You cannot rely on this test if you have taken the Pill during the past six months.

This test cannot be used to determine fertility, nor can it be used to make contraception decisions.

The EarlyDetect Menopause test is highly accurate, however, false results can occur. Check with your doctor if you get unexpected or inconsistent results.
